The NANO-SciTech Centre is a multi-disciplinary “Research and Development Centre for Nano-Science and Nano-Technology”. NANO-SciTech Centre has a mission to foster research, education, and to outreach toward establishing Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as one of the leading Research University in Nano-Science and Nano-Technology.

NANO-SciTech Centre aims to become one of the world leaders in Nano-Science and Nano-Technology research. NANO-SciTech Centre explores the innovations, current trends in research, and academic opportunities as a magical new world full of potential. NANO-SciTech Centre focuses on the research area of “Synthesization”, “Preparation Process”, “Preparation Method”, “Characterization”, “Measurement”, “Analyzation”, and “Evaluation” of Nano-Structured Materials and Nano-Structured Thin Films.

NANO-SciTech Centre interests on the Oxide-Based Nano-Materials (Zinc oxide (ZnO), Titanium dioxide (TiO2), Magnesium Oxide (MgO), Lead Oxide (PbO), Tin Oxide (SnO2), Silicon Dioxide (SiO2), Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2), Porous Silicon (PSi), Silicon Quantum Dots Nano-Particles (SQDN)), Lead Zirconium Titanate (PZT), and Silicon Nitride (Si3N4)).

NANO-SciTech Centre is working actively on Carbon-Based Nano-Materials (Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs), Amorphous Carbon (a-C), Hydrogenated Amorphous Carbon (a-C:H), Nitrogenated Amorphous Carbon (a-C:N), Carbon Nitride (CNx), Carbon Nano-Blade, Fullerence, Nano-Diamond, and Nano-Composite Polymer).

NANO-SciTech Centre currently also works on Bio-Mass Oil Palm (Oil, Trunk, Leave, and Fruit Husk), coconut tree (Oil, Trunk, Leave, and Fruit Husk), Herb (Glutinous Rice, Paddy Husk, Tapioca, Dragon Fruit, Pegaga, Tongkat Ali, Pine-Apple, and Camphor), Sun Flower Oil, Olive Oil, Camphoric Oil, and Turpentine Oil.

Besides that, NANO-SciTech Centre concentrates on the research topic of “Nano-Science and Nano-Technology of Economically and Environmentally begin Nano-Structured Materials and Nano-Structured Thin Films For Their Possible Application Towards Opto-Electronic and Electronic Devices such as Solar Cells, Light Emitting Diodes, Field Effect Transistors, and Sensors”.
