The Institute of Science (IOS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) was established in 2004 as a centre of excellence dedicated to advancing fundamental and applied research. Since its establishment, IOS has played an important role in fostering high-quality, innovative and impactful research while developing competent researchers capable of contributing at both national and international levels.

To strengthen its research capabilities and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, IOS comprises three strategic research centres:

Centre of Chemical Synthesis & Polymer Technology (CCSPT)
Centre of Functional Materials & Nanotechnology (CFMN)
Centre of Astrophysics & Applied Radiation (CAAR)

Through these research centres, IOS brings together expertise across diverse scientific disciplines, promoting collaborative research, innovation, knowledge advancement and research excellence. IOS continues to provide a dynamic research ecosystem that supports high-impact scientific discoveries and strengthens UiTM's contribution to the advancement of science and technology.
