The Institute of Science (IOS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is a multidisciplinary research institute dedicated to advancing excellence in scientific research, innovation, and knowledge creation. The institute conducts and supports research across the fundamental sciences while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration in applied sciences, engineering, and emerging technologies.
Recognised by UiTM as one of the University's Centres of Excellence, IOS plays a pivotal role in strengthening research and development in science and technology. The institute serves as a dynamic research hub that brings together nearly 100 postgraduate students, 20 research fellows, and more than 20 associate members from various faculties within UiTM as well as collaborating institutions.
Over the past 14 years, IOS has expanded its research portfolio significantly, encompassing diverse fields ranging from nanomaterials, supramolecular chemistry, and advanced polymeric materials to drug discovery, smart ionic materials, functional devices, environmental radioactivity, solar activity, and chemical reaction mechanisms. Through innovative and impactful research, the institute continues to contribute to scientific advancement and address contemporary global challenges.
The strength of IOS lies in its multidisciplinary expertise, research excellence, and commitment to collaborative innovation. Supported by state-of-the-art research laboratories, advanced scientific instrumentation, and experienced technical personnel, the institute provides an environment that nurtures high-quality research and academic excellence.
